Dr. Shawn M. Breton

Dr. Shawn M. Breton, D.C, C.C.S.P., D.A.B.C.I. is a 1999 graduate of the National College of Chiropractic (NUHS) and is both a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician and a Board Certified Chiropractic Internist, or, DABCI. From her lifetime experience as an athlete and formerly as a competitive bodybuilder, she discovered chiropractic and its unique ability to enhance and balance the physical aspect of human function. So, she sought out her personal journey to help others attain the same results, naturally. As her work and practice evolved, she found herself utilizing her knowledge in nutrition and the essentials of functional medicine in her everyday encounters, so she pursued her post-graduate diplomate work in Internal Medicine to take her practice to a truly holistic status. She has a keen interest in delving into the root cause of her patient’s health concerns and her practice is called ‘The Center for Functional Wellness’ on purpose. Utilizing a careful and detailed initial structural evaluation and health history, she takes into account where one has been in their life that may affect why certain health issues arise. Many customized options are recommended and used for restoring function to the structural system, including various methods of chiropractic manipulation for all ages, physical therapy and functional rehabilitation, acupuncture, manual therapies and many other techniques that one might benefit from to get back to health and wellness.

For her patients seeking guidance with their general internal health, she utilizes a functional medicine approach and a detailed diet and health history. Dr. Breton guides her patients to better understanding their health status by analyzing blood chemistry, providing condition-specific education and other functional medicine testing to direct and optimize the systems in the body to work together.
